About Me
I have spent 11 of my 15 year, working career at Standard Bank (South Africa’s largest Bank), where I fulfilled various roles within the Group Information Technology division.
My journey and experiences

Apart from my strong IT Digital Innovation and People Engagement background, I have gained experience working abroad and had the privilege of working alongside people from many different cultural backgrounds. South Africa is particularly adorned for their integrated rainbow nation and employment equity advancements. They are also ahead of the curve with regards to integrating previously disadvantaged individuals in the workplace.
I was given the unique opportunity to help with integration by building the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy through building an Innovation function. From creating focus groups for Women IN Tech though to building the IT Pipeline specifically focusing on previously disadvantaged individuals.
I developed an Innovation capability within Standard Bank from creating Hackathon events through to taking the ideas from development into implementation phase.
- Gathering relevant stakeholders from across the Bank and creating buy in was just one of the facets needed to build a successful innovation capability.
- Facilitation of Design Thinking sessions (Certified) for employees as well as adults and children in the community was one of my personal favorite achievements.
I promote an Agile way of working( certified Agile facilitator) with a strong inclination to Partnering and promoting local community “Learning how to code” initiatives to encourage IT Innovation and build the IT pipeline.
